Elite Custom Costumes is a mother-and-daughter duo that has been part of the dance community for over 12 years! Laura and Alexis started their journey by making the costumes for their home studio, where Laura’s younger daughter danced competitively. During that time, both ladies sewed and embellished various solo, duo, and trio costumes. They also worked on group costumes, which included small groups, large groups, and grand lines (a group of 50 girls in total). Over the years, they had experienced many disappointments with the quality of costumes purchased from catalogs. Laura spent countless hours repairing poorly crafted costumes. As a competitive dance parent and seamstress, she quickly realized that the financial investment parents make in costumes did not reflect the longevity of a competition season!

Both ladies decided to take a leap of faith and start their own custom costume business to benefit others in the community with similar concerns. Both Laura and Alexis left their corporate jobs to pursue their passion for costume design. Both women run the business from the ground up. This includes: laser-cutting patterns, sewing bases and appliqués, dyeing fabrics, embellishing (attaching skirts, fringes, feathers, rhinestones), and creating hairpieces!

Elite Custom Costumes creates costumes for all ages, genders, and genres. These include: jazz, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary, tap, ballet, ballroom, bolero, figure skating, baton, swing, open, etc. They have even created professional audition wear for many popular sports teams and pageants. Some examples over the years include: the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders! Pageants, conventions, and competitions include: YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix), The Florida Cinderella Scholarship Pageant, the Open World Swing Dance Championships, all SDA National competitions, and all major conventions (Tremaine, JUMP, Nuvo, Radix).

Laura and Alexis promise to make the costume journey as easy and enjoyable as possible for each client. Both take tremendous pride in giving each client the utmost time and attention to ensure their costume vision is brought to life. Regardless of whether you are a first-time soloist or a returning client, they promise to ensure you receive one spectacular costume!
